Virtual Experience: Wayang Kulit for Dummies
Virtual Experience: Wayang Kulit For Dummies
Hosted by Lylatul & Shufitri - Art Enthusiasts
Hello!! Apa khabar? (“How are you?”) My name is Lyla, born in Batu Pahat, Johor and I work closely with my awesome colleague, Shufitri who was born in Sungai Petani, Kedah. Both of us currently live in KL and working for Persatuan Kakiseni, a registered non-profit for the promotion of arts and culture in Malaysia. We are dedicated towards building a sustainable arts industry in Malaysia through programmes that enrich artists and develop audience appreciation for the arts. As an organisation, we also advocate the value of art and culture in Malaysia and champion new ways of bringing artists and organisations together to create enriching and creative experiences for all. Writing is my passion and I have published a dark humor book called 'Tending to Your Miseries' with an illustrator in 2018. Hence, I am so fortunate that I am working with Shufitri as he is an illustrator, actor/director, model and someone who also does embroidery as part of his art! We are very proud to be able to host this virtual experience as we are eager to share the knowledge and story behind the art form of Wayang in a simplistic manner to entice and excite non-practitioners to learn and care that will result in preservation of this amazing culture in Malaysia. We hope to connect and built the relationship with children, educators, community and practitioners both locally and internationally! See you soon.
