Newseum Kuala Lumpur

Hosted by Tajuddin Idrus a.k.a Dean - History Enthusiast

Hi, my name is Tajuddin or you can call me "Dean". I was born in Kedah, a northern side of Peninsular Malaysia but grew up in Kuala Lumpur since 1970s and now residing in Wangsa Maju, about 10km from Malaysia's most recognizable and popular landmark, Petronas Twin Tower! I used to work in various multi-national companies focusing on telecommunication industry where my last engagement was based overseas before I quit the corporate world back in 2013 to pursue something that offers work-life balance and chose becoming a freelance tourist guide for my beloved country, Malaysia. I love history and actively involved in a few associations related to culture heritage, such as the Malaysian Cultural Group, Malaysia Historical Society, The Heritage of Malaysia Trust and Malaysian Branch of The Royal Asiatic Society (MBRAS). Come join me in this virtual experience and find out the unheard stories and origin of current capital city of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur!

Highly recommended. Had a great time learning about the interesting events reported in the Newspapers of Old KL. Mr. Tajuddin would have spent many, many, many days scouring the old newspapers. Not an easy feat. Bravo!

A very fun and informative session especially for younger generations as you will learn about Kuala Lumpur before it becomes the high bustling city as we know today. The presenter (Mr Tajuddin) really has a lot of passion and great efforts to search information from newspapers which dated back even before 1900s!!! Truly recommended!!!

This was an enjoyable presentation by Tajudeen. He walks down memory lane with insightful stories. Tajudeen has a natural ability to keep the moment light, with amusing snippets and a fun trivia. Great work. Look forward to your other virtual series.

Such an informative sharing session from Mr Tajuddin and eventhough its just an online virtual tour its really interesting where we get to explore the history of Kuala Lumpur and other states in Malaysia while you just need to stay at your cozy home and been in totally safe environtment. Its good for the new generation especially the Z generation to know how Malaysia develop from scratch so that they will appreciate more about where are we stand now. It was a good platform since nowadays everything is just at our fingertip so easy for the youngster to access as well as reasonable and affordable price offered. Don’t forget to sign up and explore more. Thank you!
